The International Water Association (IWA) is pleased to announce the upcoming IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition (WDCE) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. The 2025 edition of the Congress will take place from 8-12 December 2025.

This year’s event is the latest in what is a biennial series. Co-hosted by Asian Institute of Technology, the overall theme is Water, sanitation, and innovation – pathways to progress and a resilient future. The comprehensive programme will be built around five thematic tracks:

• Ensure Safe Drinking Water: Innovative approaches for treatment and supply.
• Advancing Wastewater Treatment and Sanitation Services: Sustainable solutions for all.
• Smart Water Management: Integrated approaches for effective water management and planning.
• Enhancing Utility Management and Operations for Sustainable Growth.
• Strengthening Governance and Financial Systems for Long-Term Development.

The event is due to be the occasion at which the Asian Development Bank (ADB) launches the latest edition of the Asian Development Water Outlook report. Additional features and activities will include the Exhibition – a key part of the event – and various forums and special platforms, including a forum on the topic ‘From Land to Sea: Tackling Pollutants, Protecting Health, and Restoring Ecosystems’, as well as a High-Level ASEAN Summit.

Media Accreditation
Media professionals play a crucial role in cultivating and stimulating discourse, bringing attention to the latest issues, and catalysing changes within the water sector. By attending the 2025 IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition, journalists will gain access to insights from leading experts and policymakers and have an opportunity to network with key stakeholders and making valuable connections within the sector.

To apply for media accreditation, interested media professionals are invited to fill out the application form provided at Media – IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition.

The deadline for media accreditation ends 24 November 2025.
As part of the submission, media personnel will be requested to provide at least one of the following: Press ID Card OR Link to a relevant article/report/video interview published by your organisation and/or attributed to you or Letter of Assignment from a recognised media organisation (on an official letterhead).

Please be advised that approved media accreditation only covers event entry and no other expenses related to event participation and attendance.
